Completely bypass EGR flow B210

Will removing the EGR at connection to intake manifold and from exhaust tube (line from back of exhaust to EGR), then plugging all holes, tube from exhaust, and all the vacuum lines from EGR do the job? Or is there something else needed.

Yes.

Not really that's about it.

The EGR really doesn't do much even if it is working. There is no EGR when engine is cold, idling or at full throttle. There is slight loss of power at part throttle which is where the EGR is working that is more than made up for by simply stepping down on the gas slightly. You can't miss something you don't know you are missing. However some people use the excuse 'I want to clean up the engine and remove all useless smog shit'. Well none of it's useless but if you must, at least do it right. You will need to make a block off plate to cover the EGR hole (these usually look cheesy themselves and often leak air in) but you don't want to disable or remove the PCV valve for the block venting.

Or you can simply disable the EGR and leave everything by removing the vacuum signal hose to it or the back pressure transducer or plug the exhaust pipe to it. No exhaust.... no EGR.

Thanks @datzenmike, the pipe to the EGR busted at the entrance to the EGR, and EGR was of course completely clogged and was in the way while getting the intake off. So just getting rid of it. From what you're saying, seems I plug the pipe and all the mount holes and the vacuum lines it went to. The car has been unable to stay running for some time and I've rebuilt carb and there were exhaust leaks at the carb to intake and exhaust manifold, so replacing gaskets. Would a completely clogged EGR cause very hard starts and difficulty to stay running when does start? spark and fuel pressure good, rebuilt carb/float good, though air pressure was inconclusive. I have cleaned out the anti-dieseling solenoid multiple times (spray wd-40 thru it's mount hole). Timing was good last time it ran for around a half hour.

What can happen is the EGR gets crusty with exhaust deposits and does not close completely. This will act like a vacuum leak and really disrupt idle and starting but not much else. This is common to most all EGR systems and some Datsuns have a counter that turns on an EGR warning light (at 20K... 30K??) to remind the driver to remove and wire brush clean.

Unbolt the pipe at the exhaust end and fit a pipe plug or if you can trim to one inch and crush with vice grips and fold the tube over to seal it.
