Got some fresh rollers for it today. Being a Datsun guy, these are the biggest tires I've ever bought...

17x8.5 with a 245/40...

What about a 4g63t? Not a v8, but should pop right in and make all the horsepowers.

Those are all FWD, and turning them 90 degrees and making them work (and look good) is not easy. They don't just "pop right in". 😁

And if I really wanted a Mitsu engine, I'd just keep the stock one. Which I may still. We shall see...

The guy building my coilovers sent me some progress pics. Should be here within a week...

I love me some Starion. I’ve had both a flatty and a wide body and will someday find another flatty. Hell, I’ve been lugging around a scoop hood (real steel, not glass repop) for the last 15 years so I have it if/when I find the right car. IMO, there is not a great choice in swapping Mitsu engines, basically just the 4g63t, but you know they are a bit of work to convert to rwd. I would vote to LS swap it. Push rod simplicity with TONS of affordable aftermarket support. I have a 2nd gen Colt that will be getting one started soon.

“ Pop right in” is always a relative term and was a little tongue in cheek.

Was cruising the local swap meet this morning and found a pair of stainless headers for $40...

Being long tube truck headers, I doubt they will fit straight on, but at $40 it's worth buying just for the thick stainless flanges if I have to build my own...  👍

You need tires that wide for a Mustang.

Clear is too far gone for that, I think? I was thinking a scotch-brite bath to even the whole thing out to a satin finish could work actually.

Kinda like this...

Neither.  😄

The paint is definitely toast, and it will probably get a respray some time in the future. But that's a ways off...
