1969 Datsun 510 Again

I’m not much of a writer so I’ll do my best to post pictures and write a short description.

I purchased a 1969 Datsun 510 4 Door in the summer of 1998. I wanted one since my teens, and the opportunity presented itself. A relatives neighbor sold it to me for $300 and I towed it home that day.

I've done a lot of work on it since then and it still sits in the garage. The resto guy I hired returned the car to me and every time I saw it in the garage I found things that needed work. On top of it I crashed my truck into it and my son (mad) smashed some panels. So I’m restoring the car again and I’ll post pictures.

ill start by posting pictures of the body cart I’m building for the 510.

I’m not upset anymore on the poor craftsmanship of the technician who did the body work and paint on my car back in 2007. I am baffled to have discovered what Im about to shown in the following pictures.

The core support and inner fender were overlapped with a couple of welds and a 1/4 of bondo. This was done to both driver and passenger side.

Congrats on the 510 - I am in the middle of a VG33 swap into my '72 510 wagon. I look forward to reading about your project, for example about your coilover suspension (I did see that peeking out in one photo didn't I?) and wheel/tire combo sizes.

I have a thread on the forum:

'72 510 Goon - Prova - because it will be a test

Good luck with your build! PM me anytime.
