mmode
I need a new or rebuilt carburetor for a 1983 Datusn/Nissan king cab. I don't know much mechanics, so I don't know where the best place to get something like this. Please help Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You can rebuild one in a couple of hours and really, it mostly consists of cleaning it. A good re-build kit is about $25. Needle nose pliers, several screwdrivers and a couple of wrenches, large table with newspaper covering, some carburetor cleaner, and a camera to record how everything comes apart so it can go back together. What's your king cab doing? Maybe it's an adjustment or something else entirely? Quote Link to comment
AtomChurch
As an alternate you can find some aftermarket carbs , AND adapter plates, that will bolt on. You still will need to adjust them to mix the fuel and air properly for your truck. Its a good starting point to give adjusting your old carb a try, if only to see how it works. More fuel and this happens.. Less fuel and why did the dieseling stop? Quote Link to comment
