Stephen22
My 1972 510 does not have a hand brake. Getting a hand brake for a 1972 car will prove to be difficult. What hand brake will fit the 510? Quote Link to comment
spriso
I have a RHD 510 handbrake that I am no longer using-- let me know if this is something that you are interested in. Shipping to South Africa may be a bit expensive though! Quote Link to comment
Stephen22
Thank you Spriso but getting it to SA will take forever and expensive. Quote Link to comment
Duncan
I used a brake handle from a Sunbeam Alpine/Tiger, and mounted it between the drivers door and the drivers seat. Had a local cable shop make a custom cable. I've only had a RHD 510 wagon, which uses a pulley system to get the cable to the right side of the rear axle. Not sure the sedan uses the same. It was very simple to do, and it gets rid of the big, clunky handle assembly under the dash. Scroll down near the bottom of this page, and there are a couple of pics in my thread. yenpit
All USA spec LHD 68-73 2dr 4dr & Wagon use the same under dash e/brake handle assembly. The Wagon will have different hardware & cables at the rear diff. I would venture a GUESS that the handle assembly is RHD vs LHD cuz other side of the car! Quote Link to comment
