510_dreamin
I have a persistent leak in my L20b powered 510 that I cannot seem to identify. I have a small leak behind the rear passenger side of the oil pan, where towards near the bull housing bolts are. I have had the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and front gasket replaced so far, and it has definitely slowed the leak down but not stopped it. Also, it seems to get slightly worse when I topped off the oil for some reason. The oil pan gasket is dry all the way around so it doesn't seem to be from there Any ideas where the leak may be coming from? Quote Link to comment
paradime
Sounds like the rear crank seal. Clean everything up back there then separate the engine from the tranny a bit and feel around inside the bellhousing. If there's oil in there you'll know why. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Remove the starter and look at the front flywheel surface. If the leak is old enough it might be coated. 2 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
ck the oil sender also if leaky. It may run down the side and run along the oil pan then drop down. I had a bad one thinking it was a oil pan gasket. it was the sender diaphram 1 Quote Link to comment

Adapters are readily available. Quote Link to comment
