On with this beast of a rust bucket

 

 

 

Filled in the gap on the rear valance, fit the replacement part, and started welding.

 

 

 

I like to weld the lower lip from the inside, makes for a cleaner outside, also welding down is easier then welding up.

 

Yep poop, this side got cut to far. All good

 

 

 

 

Ended up doing an overlap weld instead of a butt weld, left a 3 inch flared area alone. Have a donor part for that.

 

 

1st part didn't work, dealing with arches here bro, my brain don't work that way.

I could not stand the hacked floor job from the previous owner, the frame rails had been cut through and reinstalled horribly.

 

So I found a set on the bone yard cleaned them up and welded them in.

 

 

 

 

unfortunately no pics untiil we seamsealed the underside and Zero rust it

Very happy to be at this stage. Got this car blast, the 1st time in 2019. now the majority is getting seam seal and Zero rust. 

 

 

1st needed to remove these dash brackets, modding the 69 dash to a 70s dash.
