Icehouse
We put a new LSD in our racecar. It was loud as hell for a while. Even with the additive. I can't remember what the breakaway was. I'm thinking 45lbs. My R190 LSD which I thought was wore out is set at 25lbs. If I do a very tight barrel at the autox it can end up with one tire fire. From what I now understand the initial breakaway can help this. I'm not sure if I want to up it though. It will in turn effect the turn in. Which my car does quite well. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
A welded differential adds huge under steer. Likewise the higher the break away the more under steer. Also won't the tires both break traction when accelerating out of a turn (assuming you have the power) and throw the car into over steer? Everything....... affects everything else. metalmonkey47
These things are a bit clunky by nature, you may give the Red Line friction modifier a try. We use it in house on just about every CLSD to help reduce a bit of the noise, it dramatically reduces low speed chatter. https://www.z1motorsports.com/oils-and-lubricants/red-line-oils/red-line-limited-slip-friction-modifier-break-in-additive-p-8680.html Edited February 19, 2019 by metalmonkey47 Quote Link to comment
