Smardo
Found j13 from fork lift engine rebuilder. It is a j 15 for a forklift. It has a sort of attachment to the front of the block, guess it's for driving hydrolics or something. Do you think this engine will work as replacent for original j13? Quote Link to comment
wayno
Just recently another member on here found a J15 for his vehicle, he bought it and then found out that it did not have the engine mounts he needed, and the block did not even have the holes for that type of engine mount. You need to look over the block very closely to make sure it will even mount in your vehicle, once it is determined that it will mount then look at the flywheel situation, will your flywheel/transmission fit on that engine, once you have that figured out then look at the front of the engine, will your front cover/water pump, and lower pulley fit that engine, is the crank different/longer in the front than your crank, if they stick out the block the same distance then you can likely transfer everything over from your J13 to the J15. Personally I would try to find an automotive engine as there likely will not be any surprises. If your trying to upgrade your 520 I would convert to an L20b/5spd, it's worth the effort.
