Justin620datsun
Found this at a car lot and I had to act fast because they were people looking to buy it everyday. Luckily I had the cash. I've been working on it here and there. Today I installed a new battery alternator and starter. The old original ones were still in it but no good. It runs alright now still needs some tuning. 2 Quote Link to comment

wayno
Don't use Photobucket, open a Postimage account, it's easy for me but I have a desk top computer. 2 Quote Link to comment

Justin620datsun
Well that's the best I can do. Anyways what exactly does the "heavy duty" mean? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What's the build date on the tag on the driver's door jam? 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
OK, so what you need to do to post photos is click on the photo, then click on the "share" icon, then pick the "hotlink for forums" choice, then right click in the reply field and "paste", the photo should show in the reply when submitted. It was easy enough for us to grab the link for you with the link you supplied, I went right there and had everything needed to post your photos just like Mike did. 1 Quote Link to comment

Should be on the left side. Or maybe it isn't a hole. 1 hour ago, ]2eDeYe said: That is a real nice specimen, love it. ? It is. Heavy Duty (I think) was only on the long bed trucks, and would have some of the suspension parts that came on the Camper option. Different rear leaf springs and it retained the front sway bar that was dropped from use after '77 on the disc brake trucks. It might have the air conditioning rad and water pump/clutch fan (but I can't fine any reference to this) And the decals. Quote Link to comment
Justin620datsun
Yes there is a hole in the a pillar passenger side. But the antenna isn't there. It's on the fender. On the driver side. Which emblems are supposed to be there? I'm new to the datsun game. I know Toyota well not so much datsun/nissan. And on the heavy duty thing that's kind of what I figured. Justin620datsun
I have an electric fuel pump not the mechanical ones obviously but there's no condenser or anything? Could it have been removed. Quote Link to comment
Justin620datsun
here's the fuel pump. Dont mind the mess now that I have it running good I'll be detailing and cleaning off the grim. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Earlier, DATSUN1600 '74 on just DATSUN. Usually the '79 say DATSUNby NISAN This was to start getting people used to the Nissan name change coming in '82. On a vehicle this old it wouldn't be impossible to have changed rusted out or damaged front fenders, in fact the entire cab could have been. The Heavy Duty decal is a '79 item though The '79 was the only 620 to have the antenna mounted on the driver's side A pillar. The fuel pump is mechanical and mounted on the head near the #1 spark plug... you can see the delete cover. Electric pumps were used on '79 air condition or camper trucks. 1 Quote Link to comment
Justin620datsun
Ok I knew mechanical fuel pump was there. So do I have an aftermarket electric fuel pump? Or did someone swap one in? Or is the factory block off plate from the factory? 1 Quote Link to comment
Justin620datsun
also looking to replace some wiring due to the mess. Ive heard painless wiring but not I dont know. What do you guys reccomend? Looking to be able to power a new stereo and speakers. Nothing fancy just...modernish if that makes sense. 1 Quote Link to comment
DanielC
If you replace the wiring with a non stock system, none of us will know how to fix it. Stay with a stock system, and other 620 owners will know how to fix problems you have. 1 Quote Link to comment

Justin620datsun
Ok is there a good wiring diagram on here somewhere I can't find? I just looking to learn up about them so I know what is what. 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
The electric pump you have on your 620 is the same electric pump used on the later 720 carbureted engines. Every time I find one of these pumps on a truck in the junk yard I buy it. Quote Link to comment
Justin620datsun
So someone put it in? Or I can find parts for it if I need to? Because I only find parts for the mechanical ones. Quote Link to comment
