frank88
I'm currently fitting plug sockets and lighting in my garage and was thinking about under car lights. I was going to lay 2 strips of leds under the car on the floor and have a separate switch for them. Only problem is getting caught on them when on a trolley etc. Has anyone done this or have any other suggestions? I thought it would be so nice when you need to get under the car to be easily able to see what your doing Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
How about the ol' drop light? You can get them with LED, practically any length you'd like 1 Quote Link to comment
frank88
What's that? Like a normal light on the end of a cable? I am planning on putting a double socket on the roof beam above the engine compartment for a battery charger and could easily be for a light too Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I have a pair of LED spot lights. They take D cell batteries so no wiring to snarl and have a stand so they can set on the floor and be aimed. Has a projector lens 2 Quote Link to comment

Newer LED ones can have a fairly long strip of LEDs. Or if you have a line of popular cordless tools (Makita, Ridgid, Milwaukee) they all have 18v portable lights. I have a Ridgid "snake" light with spot or flood (18v), and also a 2500 lumen panel light (18v or corded) Quote Link to comment
frank88
Ah yea I see. I do have lights like that and they are good I was just wondering if there were alternatives at the flick of a switch. I guess I'm over complicating it! Quote Link to comment
