Elivandal89
Hey guys I have a 1986 Nissan 720 2.4 and when I shut it off it shakes and keep going for 5 second and can hear the air suck through my carb. Any ideas? 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
That is called dieseling and all you have to do is let out the clutch when shutting off the motor. Is this a stock carb or is it throttle body injection. The easiest way to tell is does the air cleaner have 1 wing nut or 2? 1 is carbureted and 2 is throttle body injection. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It shouldn't do this. It means gas and air are still getting into the engine after being turned off. If a carb engine, the idle cut solenoid shuts off fuel to the idle circuit. Not sure about the throttle body injection... probably the injectors are shut off but if leaking (dripping) it would diesel as fuel pressure does not immediately stop.. 1 Quote Link to comment
Elivandal89
It's a regular carb on there. And it just recently started doing this. I also don't think it's a hose leak ether. Would it be better to get a new carb or just the idle cut Quote Link to comment
