L20B rocker arms

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of lighter than stock L20B rocker arms? I have 8 of them that are new and would like to lighten them for my engine. Has anyone made any of these out of titanium, or had them chemically milled to reduce the weight? Thanks in advance

There was an earlier version, with out the brazed in hard wiper pad on the top.

They just had a thick hard chrome plating on the surface, and were lighter than stock.

But as of yet, I have failed to locate any new ones.

Hell, I'd even go for some not so worn used ones, and have them re-chromed.

Polish the top & bottom of the main beams, to remove stress risers (where the forging die shears off the excess steel), and take the square corners off the nose, and bottom side of the lash pad.

That will lighten them.

There are several shops around the US that will regrind the lash pad & nose to save old rockers for under $5 each.

Been trying to locate the attachment for my Sioux valve grinder to do this myself, but they are hidden away in old auto machine shops, rusting.
