BestyBlue77
The '74 B210 coupe is ready for the scrap heap. What is the best (cheapest, easiest) way to cut this bad boy up, and what do I do with all the pieces once it's cut up? It also has 6 crusty tires with it. Help! 1 Quote Link to comment
Duncan
I cut a 210 up with a fresh 6-pack of Sawzall blades. My employer at the time had a dumpster, and I would bring a few pieces every day and deposit them there. It didn't take long to dispose of the entire vehicle.. I used the entire drive train for another vehicle, but cut everything else up. Prior to the disposal, I put an ad on Craigslist that said to bring your own tools and take anything that you want off the carcass. I only got two takers. One guy took a mirror, and one got got the back seat bottom. I was expecting more interest, but that was it. 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Phone a yard and they'll come get it... may even give you something for it. 4 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
I cut up a bluebird for the keeper in a few hours with two Milwaukee torch blades, they were awesome...like a hot knife through butter. One would’ve done it, but I accidentally ruined one making a plunge cut. 2 Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
I'm with Mike, someone will pick it up for free, maybe even give you $50 for the honor. 3 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
She’s in the Sacramento area, the only wreckers in that area would charge her. They offered me $27 for a decent, running and driving 2002 montero limited. Only thing wrong was it wouldn’t smog. We said fuck that garbage and just paid the grand to get it fixed. 2 Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
Got to be a scrap metal yard somewhere. They pay by the bound. Not much, but they still buy scrap. Look on Craigs list, there are people that will pick it up for free, to do the same thing. Betsy, if it isn't your name on the title, just drag it off to a local Walmart parking lot :) 3 Quote Link to comment

I already called around and they'll just give me free towing, but don't think they'll take it after I cut it up some already. They want to make money from it. 1 Quote Link to comment

Plus I think this might be kind of a fun project. Although, still not sure about the rims with tires. Are there places that recycle tires? Might just have to pay a tire shop $8 per tire to take them for me. 1 Quote Link to comment

Ya, I've had different variations of ads up for this car & not as much interest as I expected for California. Well, since I'm cutting him up, I might as well grab some of those non-rusty wheel area sections for myself and the floor pans. Sweet! 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
give it to the junk yard and not waist your time 3 Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
Cut the top off it at the base of the window pillars, install a hot tube in it, and put it in the back yard. Pump can go under the hood. You could even make the lights work. 2 Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
If you think you ever might want to re-register the later one as a '74, cut out and keep both sections of VIN, and with enough metal around them to make a convincing argument for "replacement panel" if it ever comes up. In CA, a wrecker needs a title to take it. If you don't have a title, you can bring it to Schnitzer Steel and "donate" it as scrap metal. I've cut complete cars up and thrown them away pieces at a time in the regular garbage pickup. Takes a while, but saves me a trip. Quote Link to comment
