datsunfreak
Probably nothing you don't know, but all that glass is worth saving asap. Preferably before some idiot smashes it like they did the rear window... I'll probably go back and get some more stuff as time allows. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
I know. The sedan lost a quarter window within the last year. I'll probably go grab windshields and quarter windows. I didn't before cause it was protecting the dash I just bought. I'll be out there again in a month or so. If anyone sees something they want, let me know. I don't have a ton of parts storage, so I can't hoard it all. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Does the dash pad unbolt from the dash frame? Is it glued also? Trying to figure if I should swap the whole dash, or just parts. The spare dash frame I have is rusty. Otherwise seems good. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Does the dash pad unbolt from the dash frame? Is it glued also? There are 10-12 screws going through the dash frame, into the pad itself. It has to be out of the car to swap the pad, or at least it's 20 times easier to do it out of the car. You better have tiny hands and be very flexible to remove it in the car. ^_^ Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
And if I could offer an aesthetic suggestion, I personally think that grill looks a lot better without the badge... 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I'd remove it from the car. Have you swapped pads before? Is it glued as well, or just screws? Yeah, basically built my whole dash "from scratch" last time... Just looked through my old photos and I think it's 5 screws on top, four on bottom... See the four "big" holes? datsunfreak
Few more across the top edge... I see now I didn't get a pic of the back side of the pad... Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
And to clarify, the factory used ZERO glue to attach the pad to the frame. There are metal inserts cast into the foam pad that the screws thread into... 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Thank you for the details. Looks like a straight forward swap. Gives me some confidence that I won't end up with two shitty dashes afterwards. Lol 1 Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
New dash is uncut then? Not sure I've ever seen one of those... At least the Japanese guy who cut my dash for a single DIN did a good job, but I would love an old school 2 knob radio... Quote Link to comment
