Who else runs a YouTube channel?

Recommended Posts

I suppose I hadn't really considered it before today, but Mighty Car Mods' recent article got me wondering who else is creating video content on YouTube (ignore the clickbait title: https://mightycarmods.com/blogs/news/who-is-going-to-pay-for-it

Most of our build content on Driven Daily has been going to our YouTube channel and I've been thinking about where we go from here. The hard part is establishing a consistent schedule with decent production quality, and I think we've finally nailed that down. What happens after that, though? There are collaboration opportunities with other channels, potential for sponsorship, paywalls, funding more interesting episodes, etc. I'm very interested to see how more developed channels have solved these kinds of problems and complications.

It seems like one of the biggest things, especially in RoadKill's case, was locking in a sponsor. From what I have noticed overall is that when it comes to automotive related channels, funding can be just as important as content on a timely schedule. Of course there are the channels that make it work without it, but a lot of it depends on the subject matter.

I started on you tube about January. But I'm small and just getting started so I have hardly though about funding.

I have a channel under my name I started years ago...

Realized my most viewed videos were all Datsun-specific content...

So recently started a separate channel that will be just Datsun stuff. Posting the first video soon...

Another user on here with a channel that posts regularly is Bleach Garage...

Really, I'm happy with whatever advice/feedback/insight I can get. The majority of YouTube advice out there is how to game their management systems to show up higher in search/recommendation results.

Yeah, they seemed to be doing well for awhile. Didn't /DRIVE/ go through the same kind of problem?

Seems like meeting up with other youtubers help boost viewership. You could present your car/truck to channels like "that dude in blue" who will do reviews of your car and post your youtube link. Theres a kid named gingium that has gotten a lot bigger over the last year by doing that.

Also if you have at least one really out there build like Tyler Fialko's cambergini it'll help attract people, then continue doing your normal content. I don't think he's really lost followers and his main build for the last almost year is a bozoku yota that he's been bondo and sanding for at least the last 6 months haha then again he mixes in builds his friends have going on also.

I haven't had any trouble showing up in the top of the search results? But then again I am pretty much the only guy out there making 720 vids.

Are you sure you're at the top? If you aren't washing out your cache it will show up on top even if it buried on page 8  .. Try using someone else's PC or hand held in an entirely different location,, and see what happens.

Or don't word it exactly as it is labeled on video.

My best view videos are my Boba Fett costume creation.

I have been doing ALL of my updates on the 510 as timelapses with voice overs. I haven't had a ton of viewers, I think that my videos are too mellow, and don't have enough humor in them which is why I haven't got more views. I also would appreciate feedback on how to make my channel better.

Hmm I need to figure that out, for some people I show up right at top and others not. (Using someone else's PC)

If you search for "Nissan 720 timing chain" I almost always show up.

I just verified that ... but had to scroll down 3 pages to find you searching for "Datsun 720" and "Nissan 720"
