'72 Gas pedal replacement

Suggestions for a gas pedal in a 72 510? 

 

For 17 years, I've never had one, I just push with my sneaker on the accelerator arm.  Is there anything that just slides on to the arm and i'm good?

Our Ford van has a rubber thing that sits on the end of the arm can swivel. It doesn't touch anything but the arm. Something like this...

I think they make Generic pedals that bolt to the arm

The cheapest way would be to just weld a pad on the arm like the Ebay one above,,, OEM looks like this

Unconventional but workable substitute would be the floor mounted gas pedal from a 1600 thru 2002 model BMW.

I had never seen what stock was supposed to look like.  I think I'd stick with sneaker on the arm before stock.  I've seen the generics ones on eBay but i was headed to the junkyard this weekend and was wondering if there was something like  "hey, the one off a '90's Sentra slips on and works fine"

 

My son suggested the ones from an R32 GTR from eBay.  Yeah, seems like overkill . . . .

Just welded a piece of metal to the arm. Works fine
