hobospyder
So I've reopened hoboland and have added 2 vehicles since my last couple of threads were closed. And figured to get around the issue of pictures I'll just use the GoPro I spent entirely too much in last year. This last weekend I went down and built a support for the stairs to get them off the shitbox, removed the spare front frame section from the bed of the 79 and started attempting to remove the steering linkage so I could get the 79 off the back of the hauler. Enjoy Didn't get much other than that. All my projects are going to be lumped into this thread. Little miss, Frankentruck, ev620.... everything that I do in the shop. 6 Quote Link to comment

hobospyder
so played hookie today, got down to the shop. got the truck off the truck, that's about it did some measuring while the steering linkage was on the floor, the stuff in little miss matches with the ball joint stuff, so there's that enjoy 3 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
'79s had the chrome trim around the opera windows and drip rails. They are also the only 620 with the radio antenna on the driver's side. If it has a brown/tan dash and matching door cards and arm rests.. that too I believe is '79 one year only. Fender emblems say DATSUN by NISSAN I think the '78s and earlier just said DATSUN. Jelly. Wish I had somewhere out of the weather for this. 1 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
Moving on, Chester came over to grab parts, we got stumped as neither of us had the right tool and will probably end up drilling out dash screws on the black truck. But progress has been made by way of cleaning out and removing trash for the black truck. I think I'll call it Frankentruck. Little miss lost her dashboard and seatbelts, will continue with teardown in 2 weekends. I really only get a full free day every other Sunday while my daughter is with her mother, as the weather warms you may see more videos including my daughter "helping" out in the shop. 5 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
What special tool are you needing? 1 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
What special tool are you needing? proper swivel or some expert advice on the three screws in top of the dash. Chester said he has a swivel he just didn't bring it with him. Somehow managed to small screwdriver and crescent wrench the ones in little miss but the ones in Frankentruck aren't behaving 2 Quote Link to comment

tdaaj
Just go buy the proper tools if you have any money left over from that 180sx. Tools are cheap investments. 3 Quote Link to comment

hobospyder
Been a bit, missed a shop day because I was getting a sound system installed and it was snowing and cold out. I have used the ramp truck twice now, and not for the trip I had planned for the first one. Latest edition to the fleet, going into service as a daily, one golf is sold one is being parted out and scrapped. Enjoying this little girl 4 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
Only thing datsun that happened is there's now a visitor in the shop and little miss got pushed up to the house garage this weekend. Was working on volkswagons to get rid of them. Both are sold, one is still lingering in the shop 3 Quote Link to comment
