Aibast
strange, they work for me. Here is some clips from a dashcam of this years "Winter Rally" - no snow this year. From the start we got a Special Stage - damn the way was bad, fried the cluch. You can also see what our gravel roads looks like after 4 months of rain. We even have a joke about it. In the Bible it rained 40 days and 40 nights, they got the Great Flood - well in here we call it a warm winter. https://youtu.be/IWgQ11iKvAk PS. Aibast
So the rally did some damage. Rear brakes failed and had to rebuild them. And the exhaust muffler started ratling and leaking from a lot of rusted out places. So made a new one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0xhSg6YyBA Quote Link to comment

Added 2mm metal in there to get more rigid structure and it would have needed a custom class in there - way to expensive. 1 Quote Link to comment
Aibast
Added the rear end. Solid one for now. Maby someday I'll make a tailgate. Had to take about 15mm out of it to match the body. The roof window went in. Started on the bed framework. Edited June 16, 2020 by Aibast 2 Quote Link to comment
Aibast
small update -- cleaned her up and covered the metal with rust preventer on the inside - primer next. Edited June 29, 2020 by Aibast Quote Link to comment
Aibast
Finished the bed framework. All metall and welds treated with rust preventer (Florin RS). The color is what the rust preveter turns into - black/dark blue. This is what it look like now. 1 Quote Link to comment

Nilsson AB added it right behind the front door. 4785 + 700 = 5485mm (216") is the whole length. Edited July 24, 2020 by Aibast Quote Link to comment
Aibast
Not a lot happening with the car. Got a new job, now I make PVC fabric truck covers, divider curtains and so on. On top of that joined the Estonian Defence League , it is something like a National Guard you guys have there. A friend asked me if I would like to join. He is in a combat engineers unit. They are not just battlefield builders but also trained in combat, they where missing a sniper/marksman. As I was trained as a urban combat sniper during my constcription I tought why the hell not. Been doing engineer training, last week was explosives. Got my lower level demolition and explosives permit for plastic and TNT. Edited October 17, 2020 by Aibast 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Well that's neat. As a stereotypical American, i enjoy both shooting guns and blowing things up. There is something good to be said about doing so when someone else pays for supplies 😁 1 1 Quote Link to comment

There is something good to be said about doing so when someone else pays for supplies 😁 You got that right - did a 1 day pistol training as they got a new sidearm and I have never used Heckler & Koch USP. Good when someone else pays for ammo and range time. This is my marksman rifle Galil Sniper. Still need to "shoot it in" - adjust it to me. This time need to use a different range as near us is only 300m one. Need at least 600m to get it spot on. Edited October 17, 2020 by Aibast 1 Quote Link to comment

Used a lot to make sure everything gets covered. Primer on top of that. It is going to be sanded of before the paint. 1 Quote Link to comment
Aibast
Did some work on my now named "Mad Nilsson". A nice thick primer and a outdoor use urethane based black topgoat in matt textured finish. Not so even but it will do for now. Edited July 11, 2021 by Aibast Quote Link to comment
Aibast
been off doing different things. Training other EDL members in explosives (the left guy in the pic) and getting some training myself. But the car now has all the lights working and I have a bad cover made from PVC fabric. Lockleaf
Is it super odd to see full size US trucks where you are from? I imagine they are really uncommon in most of Europe. Around where I live, they are literally every 2nd or 3rd vehicle. Quote Link to comment
