Lozer
So my inter cooler is currently using my high beam holes. anyone know of a product that runs both hi and low beams out of one bulb? Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
So it's probably a little different setup.... I have a 521 .... but the 521 has the 4 headlights and one set is a high/low bulb.... Is the 510 one set high, one set low? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Your outer lamps should be both hi and low the inner pair are just hi. All you need are some driving lamps for high beam. 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
a stock 510 really is 2 elemnts on the outer lamp. both 35watts. 3 prong so when one goes to highs is just switches to the other 35 watt element(both do not come ON) and the HIBEAM relay kick the inner lamps ON which are 50watters Now if you get a H4 harnnes and buy a Hella/Bosch /Cibie H4 lamp housing you can get the H4 bulb with the normal 55/60 watt bulb or they have 55/80 watters also and various wattage. however the lamp housing is only good for so much due to the smaller size. 5. 3/4 say to a 7 inch round lamp. the reflector is bigger. This should be good enough for daily driving at night. On can add bumber Hella 500(7inch) lights and hook the low amp2trigger wires to the relay to POWER the 500s this will be enough for sure. The H4 harness plug in to the stock pass side 3 prone and used as a trigger for the relays to power the higher watt lamps 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
The sheet metal/grill isn't made for a 7" headlight is it? I suppose one could make a custom grill, but how often does one use the brights. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Your outer two lamps already have high and low beams. If you haven't already, replace with halogen lamp with more light output. You might want to up grade the wire size to 12 gauge and use the stock wires to power a relay with power direct from the battery. Again just get after market bolt on 100watt halogen driving lamps. You only need them for high beams anyway. Bolt to the underside of the chrome bumper so the holes won't show when you get rid of them. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I rarely use the HIghbeams now anyways. Im old and dont drive that fast Quote Link to comment

BambooU
The H4 's are really good. I have them and they are brighter than stock lights. The trick is finding them... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Stock were tungsten. Next were halogen. But they may draw more power so maybe time to upgrade the wires to and from the lamps and run them from relays. Even new heavier gauge wire will brighten them slightly. Quote Link to comment
