d.p
No guarantee your kids are going to be into whatever you are. Congrats though, do you know who the dad is? 1 Quote Link to comment
mainer311
Well, my first kid loves bicycles already, so there’s at least some chance. And I hope they hate cars, so they don’t want to drive mine. We’ll be on Ricki Lake tomorrow to see who the real dad is. Edited January 23, 2022 by mainer311 2 Quote Link to comment
d.p
@mainer311 I think I asked you this on FB but where did you end up finding flat top pistons? Quote Link to comment

d.p
What did you pay for that king pin rebuild? Thinking I might as well do mine as I’m running out of things to do. Quote Link to comment

mainer311
Yeah, email Mike. These need to be honed by a machine shop after the new bushings get pressed in. Quote Link to comment

Ah shit, can any machine shop do that? I guess I could ask my local engine guy if he could do it. Quote Link to comment

My machine shop used the same machine used to hone the small end of the engine connecting rod.... So your engine guy should have this ability..... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The new bushing will crush when pressed in. They also need to be lined up to the grease port. An adjustable reamer is faster and more accurate than a hone. Quote Link to comment
mainer311
Um, not really. Have you ever used one of those adjustable reamers? They work like shit. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think this is what M Klotz uses. A hone is going to wobble all over and you could end up with a tapered bore. Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
The tool is called a reamer, and is like honing, but done with a cutter, not stones. Quote Link to comment
mainer311
Almost have my speaker pods ready to go on the kick panels. Mounting them about mid-way up with the tweeters turned upwards such that I still have room to put my foot on the dead pedal. Should be a great improvement. Then I’ll be sending my door cards to the upholstery place to match my bench. 2 Quote Link to comment
