Yellow 1969 1600SSS Bluebird coupe - asking 3,500,000 yen Silver 1970 1600SSS Bluebird coupe - no asking price Although I'd prefer the '69 due to the grill and the dash, it looked like it was pretty rough - especially for the asking price - it looks like it got a quick paint job at one point and not much else. Adam was fine with that and didn't want to go any higher himself. I wasn't too optimistic as it had obviously been "refurbished" and I figured it probably have a reserve above my bid. It looked like a really solid car but the re-spray already had flaws and things like the cracked and bulging glove box door and every interior door handle missing the plastic/vinyl made me think this may have been in pretty rough shape before the paint was applied. Still pretty, and if it was straight and rust free - it would be worth my bid. Turns out it must have presented better than the photos as it was bid up to 2,195,000 and sold. That would be nearly $26,000 in my driveway. Too rich for my blood for sure! They are not getting any cheaper folks! Quote Link to comment
