DatDoug
After meeting felloew Ratsun members Rat Tail Dragger and Datsunfish for breakfast this morning, R.T.D. brot his truck over and we did a little brake maitenance (bleeding and adjusting) Then we swapped rims between my KC and my 73 whitey. Put the chrome pathys on my 73 Looks way better:D Then RickRat showed up with his 73 620 and showed his new stock tach he bot from Datsun Noob. So we tore into his dash only to find out that the 73 was not pre-wired for the tach:( After reading my manual it seems that not till 76 did they wire the 620's 4 the tach. All in all a good day:D [/img] [/img] [/img] Quote Link to comment

ppeters914
Nice. I helped a friend finish pulling the motor/tranny from his roadster, then separate the engine/tranny and get the engine on the stand. He's got quite the Winter Project List. Quote Link to comment

DatDoug
Well, every day is a Datto work day.:D This last Sunday I helped my friend Dick pull his 4 speed from his 77 620 and put in a low mileage 5 speed. It only took 4 hours. Would have taken less but Dick likes to tell tales:blink: It went very smooth and Dick even made a little plug 4 the end of the tranny so we didnt get gear oil all over:cool: Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I always keep old spline ends. Any tranny that I swap or store gets one stuffed in the end. Quote Link to comment

Guest DatsuNoob
So... where are the pics of that job well done? I'm assuming you guys got it all wired in without too much trouble. Got a couple offers on it before it went to Rickrat, I'm always happy to keep parts like that within the ratsun community. He's got a really nice, clean, truck, and that little tach is just the icing on the cake. I hope it works out. ;) Edited November 26, 2008 by DatsuNoob Quote Link to comment
