thisismatt
I didn't have a tailgate or pins, so when I put a replacement on I used long stainless bolts & nylocks. Sorry, it's been too long to remember the diameter. Stainless or brass rod would work well too. I believe the ends of the hinge leafs are staked to hold the regular pins. I think zed1 is referring to door hinge pins. Never heard of anyone buying tailgate specific hinge pins. The tailgate pins don't have any kind of bushings, or space to put a bushing. DanielC
I believe it is 5/16. Just a round piece of steel. if possible ask for "drill rod" It is a little harder than mild steel. 1 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
I have used large nails (spikes) that I buy from farm and ranch stores, Cal Ranch or Tractor supply. I cut them to length and tap them in with a hammer. 1 Quote Link to comment
