distributorguy
Anyone who wants to stop by and say "hi!" or lend a helping hand, we'll be racing at Bonneville from August 12th-18th, unless we set a record, break, or get tired of trying and leave early. If you're not familiar with the venue at the salt flats, the pits are located about 6-7 miles from the start lines, off to the left of the long and short courses. We'll be racing the short course, off to the far right as you're driving in, unless we break 150 mph. Yeah, right! Hotel rooms are almost all booked at the Wendover casinos, but there are a couple rooms left. Come Tuesday rooms are cheap and plentiful, but all the excitement is Saturday and Sunday on the long course. 2 Quote Link to comment
paradime
Best of luck out there man. Mad respect for representing the big D. Don't forget the Ratsun sticker, it's good for an additional 6 mph at the top. 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
I thought the Ratsun sticker was only for +5 patina. Good luck man, 150mph is flat moving in a Datsun! 1 Quote Link to comment
ratpatrol66
distributorguy where do you pit in the pits? I will be down there again this year and would like to check out your truck. If your running the short course maybe I'll see you in the lanes? Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
The record we're trying for is 129.6. Anything close to that and we'll be thrilled! I don't know where we'll pit. No idea. Maybe we can shore-up near each other. I'll have a bunch of help (5 of us) and tons of supplies/tools/power/welder, etc... Along with a mini-bike and 4-wheeler. I don't have a Ratsun sticker but I'd proudly apply one on each rear fender. Who has them??? Quote Link to comment
Duke
I'll be there 12th-18th as well. I'll be driving our IFL car for the first time. We're planning for a bunch of shake down runs on the short course, and then hopefully qualify to run on the long course later in the week. I haven't been to the salt in about 10 years and this will be my first time driving there so it should be a learning experience to say the least! Really looking forward to it. Hope to see you all there. Quote Link to comment

distributorguy
We're forced to be safe - or they don't let us on the salt... As Mike Rowe would say... Safety 3rd... Or was it "Drive fast and take chances."? 2 Quote Link to comment
ratpatrol66
You can not bullshit your way through tech at any event on the salt! They will send your ass home! Many of these people are volunteers but true professionals and very passionate about land speed racing. It is one hell of an experience being out there on the salt. Other worldly!!! 2 Quote Link to comment

Duke
My dad left with the car on the trailer this morning. I'm leaving mid day tomorrow. Hopefully tech goes well for him tomorrow and we can get our rookie run done on Saturday. Getting very excited! 1 Quote Link to comment

Duke
Had an awesome time. We had a few issues and the the staging lines were super long, so we weren't able to make quite as many runs as we were hoping. Already making plans for next year though! Here is my fastest run of the week. 6 Quote Link to comment

Duke
What engine? Late 90's Kawasaki ZX9R (900cc, 4 cylinder) with Kinsler mechanical injection, running on methanol. 2 Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
Love the smell of napalm methanol in the morning (or any time). 2 Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
Here's our last run. Only 110.7. It shows the process of setting up, running, and how long it takes for us to drive out to tow the truck back. Our re-build for next year is already underway. The rear axle is almost done. Transmission in the works. Ballast being acquired. Plenty of smaller upgrades laid out on the white board for the winter. 3 Quote Link to comment
