Brandon.fair
Hey yall what mufflers are you running? I'm in the marker for a new one and also I want to get rid of the fart can on mine. I don't know who looks at these trucks and says "the only thing I could improve on this truck is the exhaust. It needs to sound like it's taking a s**t everywhere it goes." I can guess though. (Someone carved "Lopez" in to the radiator.) 1 Quote Link to comment
84720FourWheel
Thrush turbo is an okay but cheap muffler. Thrush welded sounds really good on a Jeep and it's a straight thru muffler so it doesn't restrict flow as much. 2 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
I am old and like quiet so no straight thru mufflers for me. 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
I'm young and annoying, so I like my project cars equally retarded Actually it's not too bad at all, thrush 25" glass-pack, I think it helps accentuate the side draft Weber. 1 Quote Link to comment
Crytek89
I'm running a 2.5in Borla - straight-through because I'm also young and annoying :P 1 Quote Link to comment

bottomwatcher
I am getting old but run a welded thrush because I am immature. They stand up well to intentional backfires unlike the stamped ones. My last stamped one blew out when I let off an epic backfire during "art night". Lots of older folks enjoying a five gallery open house night lining both sides of the road. Traffic was at a crawl but I was able go gain enough speed for a good fuel dump and cause I am sure multiple pant shitting events. I got lots of stinkeye but it still makes me smile today. Now with fuel injection those days are over. 2 Quote Link to comment
Cheetosrdabest
Massey Furguson tractor muffler for me, ha,ha (old, annoying, AND cheap !!). Actually sounds awesome as it is a straight thru type and my big Silverline tip fit perfectly on it over the muffler diameter. 1 Quote Link to comment
Brandon.fair
There are a couple of nissan 380's at the junkyead near my house. I'm thinking about cutting one off and welding it on mine haha 1 Quote Link to comment

Z-train
Walker Super Turbo. Quiet cruise, but barks when you put your foot into it. Loud usually equates to loss of HP,so enjoy slowing down. 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
Willz, That looks "young" haha Well, when I finish my turbo KA24e-t build, it'll probably be going straight out the fender, or I'll be doing a straight piped 3" to the side of the bed like this BMW....Because #racecar 1 Quote Link to comment
720inOlyWa
I am going to be way off the pace here by mentioning that a Honda Accord muffler works real well and gives a very satisfying, very quiet, trundling sound that is most pleasant to these ears. Fuck that loud shit. 3 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I'm putting a g20 "variable capacity" muffler on my z22 powered 510. It has a valve that opens at rpm making it a straight through muffler, but cruising around, valve closes, and it's a good chambered muffler. 1 Quote Link to comment
7twentyguy
I have repurposed my old Harley exhaust, Cycle Shack baloney slice with a Y split out the center of the back under the roll pan, the exhaust is baffled so it's quieter than straight pipes. 2 Quote Link to comment

I'm thinking about cutting one off and welding it on mine haha i replaced the exhaust on my 280 as a whole unit, 2.5" on the old one and cut the pipe off right at the manifold. had a friend cut and weld the entire thing so it'd fit and it doesn't sound bad at all! 1 Quote Link to comment

Brandon.fair
Does it pop on deceleration????? Mine does not pop it just sounds very rice-y and I don't like it. I want something more quite. I'm not setting any land speed records or doing Dyno pulls so I don't really care about performance. Just want something simple 1 Quote Link to comment

If it has a fart can or just sounlds like a fart can and you don't like it, simply get a $20 econo muffler from.... any muffler shop, NAPA, wallmart where ever and a couple of clamps. 1 Quote Link to comment
