Billet dash control knobs.

Recommended Posts

Matt asked about getting them made for the 521 truck guys. Datrod has agreed to make them. How ever I told him to find a cost for him to do them, and then take deposits and a minimum will have to be made. They will be pretty much just like the factory ones except billet and anodized.

Fan

Headlight

Wipers

Hazards will be in red.

Please respond if you want a set.

Shouldn't he do the choke knob, too?  I know not everyone uses it, but it is stock to the dash, and it would be an incomplete "set" without it.  It would also be nice to do the heater lever.  I can supply all the knobs as samples as long as I get them back in the same condition!

In for a set.

Seeing a sample rendering would really be cool.

I guess interest would dictate price...I could be in for a set if not outrageously expensive.

Other matching bits would be cool. Door pulls, window cranks, radio delete plate. Ash tray?

Heater levers would be a huge bonus.

Matching 521 steering wheel hub that actually FITS without being ridiculously long.

Interested in a set. What I would like to see be remade is the sun visor arm. Not the bracket and spring just the rusty ass chrome arms.

I can ask him but I myself don't want one. So maybe he can make a extra one and leave blank. Engraving he said is a bitch for him.

The choke position could be repurposed with another switch if you dont have a choke.

I thought about doing the same thing for the 320 knobs as they crack easy so there are not many good examples around, but the threads that hold them on the switches are not all the same size, kinda makes it a bitch.

320 knobs are not the same as 520/521 if that's what you're asking, Ray

I will plead ignorance, but doesn't the screw thread into the shaft and not really matter to the knob? I see you have different head sizes shown...I would have assumed they would be the same size, but I'm not near my 521 or parts stash right now.

I know there are differences between years of the images on the knobs too, so we'd have to come to a consensus on that as well.  I'm not too concerned about which we went with, although I do have a later (71) I'd prefer to match.

He will make them like the ones I got which are of 70's style.

So Ray, does John need the knobs to copy?  I'm pretty adamant about wanting the choke knob, even though I'm going EFI eventually.  It seems silly to not make it if doing the others, especially since it will limit the market if we don't.

I'll take a set.

I also suggest that the choke knob be made too.

Will there be choices in color of anodizing, besides red hazard switch. I want the others in green. And blank ones for the window cranks.

Any idea on price yet?

I use the choke too so I would want one.  Depending on what they look like I may be interested.
