Datsun 510 magazine articles

Recommended Posts

Japan's boxy compact was a low-cost alternative to the BMW 2002 and a successful race car that helped put the pre-Nissan Datsun on the U.S. market's map . http://www.motortrend.com/news/c12-0606-1973-datsun-510/

Peter Brock's "personal street Datsun 510" was the subject of a two page centerfold in the March 1973 edition of Motor Trend magazine: Actually Mr Brock didn't call this car the "Brockbuster" He called it the Screaming Yellow Zonker, but that was a brand name of a candy, so... Another interesting detail is that Brock's car is painted Screaming Yellow, a Ford factory color D6 on their chart. Brock left Shelby's Ford factory racing team to create BRE so I've always wandered if that was a nod or a snub to Shelby.
