DIY 1985
I have a tilt-type, (TB as illustrated in the factory manual) column that has a badly deteriorated steering shaft rubber coupling (aka rag joint). I have power steering, and it is a Z24. Unfortunately, retailers aren't specific to make and model of automobile. I see a Dorman and a Help brand. Any information on getting a correct-fit-replacement would be appreciated. Is it as simple as loosening the screw from the splined "coupling flange," to get some wiggle room, then undoing the four bolts that go thru the rubber disc? I wouldn't want to do it without the help of Ratsun. BTW, is it my browser, newbie status, or am I not seeing where to add photos Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Get one from a wrecking yard that matches. I made one from a piece of conveyor belt. The bolt (cotter pin?)through the spline may not need to come off. The joint is flexible just unbolt it. Try the pinned post about Photobucket in the General Discussion forum. Quote Link to comment
