MantisX620
Hi all, I am converting my distributor into a programmable unit using a CB performance black box. I took apart one of my old points distributor to see what I was up against to lock the distributor mechanical advance. Am I correct in assuming I need to prevent the weights from being able to open up to lock timing? Heres a pic. Thanks all MantisX Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Would help if you said your reason for this. Like what is the black box going to do that the factory advance doesn't already do? 1 Quote Link to comment
MantisX620
I can set the timing to what I need at whatever vaccuum/boost reference. Also has 2 step. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Ahhh a turbo application. I think Keith Law has the vacuum advance diaphragm reversed somehow and turbo pressure retards the timing. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
seen people JB weld the slots so the weights dont move 1 Quote Link to comment
