thats what happens when people put 15x7 series with a 50series.,One really has to lower it to fill in the gap.

I think demo mentioned lower profile bumpstops, that would be the way to go.....

Coilovers wont get you any lower than the torsion bars are capable of .. It's your bumpstops and frame that are in the way...

They threaded right into the 620 mounts. I think @Crashtd420might be running something similar if not the same?

You can do away with the torsion bars, but you still have the same bump stop issue.

Here is where I was on stock bumps.
 

So yea just adding those low profile bumps gained me some decent travel.

195/55R15 is as close to stock diameter as you can get. Don't go taller.

Run anything that will fit BUT keep the diameter stock or same as a 6.00 X14 or 23.65" tall.

Mike is only talking about the final diameter, not the width. All I'm saying is that a wider tread will square up the tires and  help the wheels fill out the wheel wells without going to a bigger diameter.

205 is also a great choice for the Datsun/Nissan mini trucks.  I will be running 205/60R16 on my 66 520.  On my 86 720 king cab I run 205/75R14.

The problem with the wider tire is a taller sidewall which I don't know.   Will order those lower bump stops and work on getting the 720 4x4 leafs installed and see where that gets me.

195/55 = 107.25mm sidewall

215/50 = 107.50mm sidewall

225/45 = 101.25mm sidewall

225/50 = 112.50mm sidewall, or 13/32" (less than 1/2") taller tire overall than what you have now. Try one next time you need tires - I'm not trying to get you to spend more money but I think it would look better.

Thanks Matt. Will see what’s doing.  I have another set of 195/55s on k5 blazer wheels so not sure when I am going to have to buy new tires.

Run the tires you want - drop the truck where it needs to be...

 

I think trucks need some sidewall... I had 215/65r15 on there but they rubbed BAD! So I dropped to a 195/65,  probably could have gone 205... but 195 gives me a bit more clearance while still keeping some sidewall

 

 

some people dig the big wheel low profile tire on trucks- to each there own
