None of that is my style.  I will just use the ramair socks that Taka recommended and worst case the ITG ones.   Like Mike said they dont see them with the hood on anyway and I am going to eventually put it back on.

I'm just not a fan of those foam filters ....

Sorry but they just look cheap to me... hell I dont really care for the k&n I use, but we need something...

Just saying there may be some other better looking options out there.... possibly even motorcycle filters... .

hopefully you ink pen around the hood hinge you you can put it on pretty close w/o adjusting the hood.  I out towls around and near the cowing not to scratch the paint.  ps those hood bolts are cheap DO NOT over tighten just SNUG.   they sill snap and SHEAR off in the hole

Yeah I hear you filter options are few and far between.

I scribed the hinges where the bolts were on both sides.  Besides I didn't do anything the first time I took it off when I did the head on my L16 and managed to get it back on without much issue.

Look at these wild ones:  s-l1600.jpg

Just remember 521 dont stop that great. I give extra room driving these now. Since you have a cool motor and want to hear those carbs kick in

as for the exhaust I know you said you going to put 2.25 in but at the Y pipe putting a 2 inch will be ezer. I run 1.75 as really the exhaust is necked down at the begining(Y Pipe and manifold) and making it 2.25 is really just for looks.

I have disc brakes in the front so it stops OK and it although its faster its not like I am driving 100mph around in it.  It is in by no means a safe truck compared to todays standards so I try to just hoon around it when I can and drive like a sane person when I can't.

Say that again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I meet a Russian girl from a 3rd world country of Moldovia . I would meet in my Jeep. But then one day drove the 521 and said you need a ride which was only down the street.  She said DONT LOOK SAFE!!!! she walked back to hear apartment.  That ENDED any pursuit by me when a 3rd world LADA drving free loader Bitch says that to me. Like she all above that . Made it simple not to call her again.  she only waned money and buy her groceries.

Does anyone know if these are OEM mirrors, and if so what model they came off of?  Mine OEM side mirror is limp and never going to recover so looking to replace it.  There is a single NOS on Facebook for $250 but that is highway robbery.

Taiwan should be your first clue.

The right side mirror was an option back then, very rare to see one.

Hard to find side view mirrors that screw onto the doors today and don't look like they fell off a 60s Ford Roadbarge.. For $39 get them.

I like that one but the problem is I already have 2 holes for the OEM mirror so my only choice is the same OEM mirror or add 3 more holes to my door because I doubt the two existing holes line up with the 3 on that 510 mirror. Pic below is from when I first got the truck and it had no side mirror glass.
