Crashtd420
Now if I can just seal the pan properly to the block and have no leak I'll be really satisfied..... 1 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
As of now all is good...... Not a drip on the cardboard..... I still wanna go for a ride tomorrow to fully warm up the engine and the double check the torque on the pan bolts.... Next up will be the bottom seal on the steering box... 2 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
And after a day of driving around in the datsun the ground has been spot less.... I no longer have a typical leaky datsun... 2 Quote Link to comment

Crashtd420
Well the summer heat and humidity is finally back and nasty, its making driving the datsun on those days a bit less fun.... Even my son commented about why I dont have ac... While I have wanted to add ac i wasn't sure how I was gonna go about it.... Well today I stumbled on this, so hopefully I didnt waste my money.... It's an ac bracket built for an L series block, goes where the smog pump would go and mounts a sanden 508 compressor like this.... My hopes are to mock up the setup and figure out the belt length... Then purchase and under dash kit like this.... With any luck i should be into this setup for about 650, then probably another 100 to charge it.... 2 Quote Link to comment

I just wanna drive it more, especially since the 5spd has been put in.... highway cruising is no problem.... And lately it's just getting hotter and more humid... if I'm driving it's great but once I hit some traffic it gets hot quick.... After a quick look and some measurements it looks like the compressor should fit nice with plenty of room.... I'll be ordering that tomorrow... if I am lucky one of the other v belts i have from the alternator swap will be the right length.... 1 Quote Link to comment

d.p
Shiat I just don’t drive mine when it's hot out. Thank god it’s not my only means of transportation because that would fucking suck. 1 Quote Link to comment
mainer311
I have the same problem with the roadster. If it’s hot out, you sit there and melt in your seat. Luckily I have 4 other cars to choose from. 2 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I got sunburn on my legs that was there for three years because I decided to drive my Sunbeam to work one hot summer day. 1 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Well parts are ordered.... Compressor .. Condensor Hose and dryer kit, plus 2 extra fittings... And I found this unit for the interior, only 4 inches tall.... Everything in total was only $520... Fingers crossed my planning is correct and I'll have everything I will need. 4 Quote Link to comment

I made a similar mistake.... I owned a convertible for a while, and during that time I started shaving my head ... Never though my head would need sunscreen on top .... well it did.... I became a red head for a week, what was worse was the pain from the hair growing through the sunburn..... 2 1 Quote Link to comment

I'll try to document what I bought and what I had to do , for you and others... As of now I'm pretty confident others can follow what I bought..... I think the bracket is the only hurdle others would have... even the one I bought was fabricated.... 2 Quote Link to comment
Greaser2
I was thinking of modifying the air pump bracket. Thoughts? 2 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
I never had an air pump on my engine but that would be my first thought of what to use.... 2 Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Making something out of steel isn't difficult. Use a straight edge to get the belt alignment correct, and make some kind of adjuster. You'll be fine. A cast steel air pump bracket will be hard to modify. Here's a Jeep PS pump bracket I made using 1/4 plate steel. 1 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
And this is why I want the ac in the datsun..... Need a sticker by end of the month.... Shes a rust bucket but runs flawlessly... Ebrake needed a cable and shoes which of course the shoes are a day away... not in stock locally.... I can warranty the pads and rotors while I'm In there.... rotor have one month left on a 2 yr warranty..... sweet.... 1 Quote Link to comment

I'll measure it up and try to draw it for others to copy.... take some of the guess work out.... 2 Quote Link to comment
