Ketcher521
So What is one of these worth? It is a little rough but it looks solid. No rust though spots. Solid frame. Solid rockers. etc. Needs motor rebuilt. but has a straight body. would clean up pretty well. It is automatic. seems pretty good. Only been setting up for like a year. thoughts? Sorry for the junky pics. Just wanted to talk to guys that actually know Datsuns ... all my friends are Honda or Mopar people. I am the lone datsun person. Quote Link to comment
Draker
240z? What is it? Quote Link to comment
CGraves
Wew that's some rough ass interior. Obviously the first thing you'd have to do is make sure it's actually a RHD and not a conversion. Check the VIN and make sure it's HS30-XXXXX and not HLS30-XXXXX. That being said even if it's a real RHD car it's not gonna be worth much. 99% of the stuff that is different between RHD and LHD is in the interior and it's completely trashed. I've only seen 1 RHD dash for sale and it was around $3,000 IIRC. Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
you can get the dash re done at just dashes the car is a 2plus2 which kinda sucks but if its true right hand drive is cool Quote Link to comment
petercscherer
Looks like a 260 or 280 since it's a 2+2. Not very valuable as a restoration/rebuild project. Unless you don't mind sinking money in a hole. Better option would be robbing the RHD stuff and installing in a better car. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
There are very few of those around so some people who have one put it up for sale for a ridiculously high price but it never sells. (at least not for that price) A 280Z 2+2 in rough shape just setting around in someone's yard I'd say is worth at least $1200 but maybe upwards of $2500. That's a rough guess but realistic. If you don't want it and its low enough of a price maybe I'd drive out and tow it home. :D Quote Link to comment
oakrun
Cut the car in half just behind the seats and graft on a 280z back end. Instantly worth more $ You can get dash covers on yahoo japan auctions, and yes, buy this car. It's a cooler car than a hounda. Edit: just found a hybridz for sale post trying to sell a rhd fairlady back in 09. He ended up parting it and crushing. I hope the market has changed since then. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/78983-fs-1976-rhd-fairlady-z-mississippi/ Quote Link to comment
Bleach
well, that is what I would do. Not sure its worth it for me though. $900 to ship a car, $1000+ for the Z. And then all I'm using is the RHD dash and steering? Still have to buy a LHD 240Z probably not... Quote Link to comment
