A 720 in the 303, daily driver "build".

Madness

Recommended Posts

After driving around a newer truck for a couple of years I realized how boring it was and how much of a drain it was on my wallet so to Craigslist I went.

Found this in south Denver about a month ago. The price was good, the mileage low, clean as could be, and the age was perfect.

Pulled it into a good friends garage and started my new car cleaning routine. There wasn't really a whole lot that needed detailing though.

Drove it around like that for a little while. Adjusted the timing and carb to make it run a little smoother but that's about it.

Of course, I can't leave anything alone. Took a trip to the local parts store and picked up some 3" blocks, "After winter" I said... The next damned day.

Aside from being an enthusiast I'm also a Pinstriper and sign painter, a set of 80's themed door magnets were in order.

And there is no way I'll be lowered without some good looking wheels.

I've got a few other things planned for her but I'm going to try to maintain the near flawless factory look. Stay tuned.

Been doing some little things here and there.

Finished the tailgate.

Painted and put on the rear bumper that came with the truck. (Not 100% sure I'll leave it though)

Made my mooneyes badge a little more legit using a 2 part epoxy drip.

Found some swanky chrome mirrors that looked just like the black plastic ones that came on the truck.

And did a way overdue coolant flush with a new thermostat, radiator cap, and Toyota red coolant.

Not pictured is a new exhaust due to its temporary state. The factory muffler fell off during a test drive after new wheel bearings where installed on both front corners. This thing may bleed me dry.

I vote yes on the bumper, but I do think it would look better chrome to match the front. They do look good without if you have the roll pan with the reverse lights like yours, but I really like the look of my rear bumper since I don't have a roll pan. And my truck is black so the chrome compliments it nicely.
