carlos12245
so i got my su's bolted on ,but one question i have is can i use the stock fuel pump with a bypass regulator or would i need to swap the fuel pump for a low pressure fuel pump and what is the set up for a bypass regulator Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The Stock SUs used a stock mechanical pump. They run on 3-4 PSI. Is this for a 280zx? You should include all info. If so, the EFI electric pump is over ten time to high a pressure. Either get a proper electric pump or a good regulator. Quote Link to comment

Doctor510
LOW Pressure pump with Pressure regulator Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well if it's low pressure you won't need a regulator. Stock mechanical pumps are rated at 3 to 3.9 PSI. The electric pumps used in the 720 and the 620 with air con are rated at 4.6 PSI max. Quote Link to comment
Jester
If you can keep it close to say 5psi, your return line will take care of the rest and you won't need a regulator. Quote Link to comment
carlos12245
can i keep my stock pump as a temporary solution for now Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You could but the pressure is at least ten times too high. A fuel pressure regulator will be needed. Some regulators return unused fuel to the tank. This will work perfectly as you have a return line. Don't cheap out on a regulator. Quote Link to comment
carlos12245
ok there was one on ebay thats goes up to 140psi would that be ok and i can just adjust it done to 4psi Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
As long as it does adjust down that low. A gauge in line helps. Quote Link to comment
carlos12245
its 0-140 psi with the gauge in as well Quote Link to comment
