Is the original 411 battery size still available?

Yes.  Peerless Auto Parts in Lawndale can order one from the warehouse and have it in store the same day.  Just remember, you have to have him look up the battery for a 1964 Corvair [the only other car that uses this battery].  You mount it with the logo facing the fender in order to align the positive and negative terminals with the car's wiring harness and it looks exactly like the factory UASA made battery.

That's why I took a Torrance Adult Education class in Upholstery and sewed up my own bucket seat covers.  The hardest thing is getting access to an industrial strength sewing machine [although you coud use a real Singer home machine at slow speed].  The actual cutting of the material is simple.  Duplicate the existing panels with a one inch excess margin and pin and sew away!

I just bought these along with a back seat. Found some seat covers in Gold Country in CA around a year ago. Not seen any listed since then. My remarks from a year ago, "A little pricey, though." My experience in doing a partial restoration of this 411 is that upholstery has been a major expense in the overall build cost. I hope it will be worth it. The red interior will go great with a color change I may eventually do, cream white, which was the original color of my high school car.

Wrong number of sewn stripes [PLEATS], and lacking the front horizontal " tuck " required to create the front leg pressure relief.  That being said, just might be an acceptable substitute!  Very early PL411 and WPL411 might have used this early version bucket seat!  I will check the front seats of the PL411 that I saw at the last JCCS meet.

Oh man, I thought these were exactly correct to my '67 PL411. Shows how much my memory is gone.  B)

I wonder why they didn't do them to spec?

I think you might be right that these are seats from an earlier 411 or even a 410. I saw something similar in a photo I saw. Let me see if I can find that site.

That front bucket seat upholstery pair seems to be a great compromise between the PL411 and later RL411 bucket seats!  Congratulations, you are getting there!  The under dash "bracket" for the under dash controls looks like you have fitted the appropriate push/pull/twist controls very well!  Keep up the restoration work, we need more of these jewels at the next JCCS meet!  I was the only 411 series sedan or wagon at the last show.  It confuses the judges as to where your/my car goes when its the only one in the show.  But it does make "acceptability" condition a moot question as I must admit.  "If we say no. what other substitute do we have? Or do we skip a whole generation of JDM or the equivalent export series of Japanese antique vehicles?"

Hey I just happened to come across this topic. I'm the guy in "Gold Country CraigsList" with the 411 seat covers. Done custom upholstery for over 30 years.  I still have the patterns to make some up if needed. $685 a set.  

 

I have a 67 SSS I'm restoring and in need of parts. Maybe trades?

 

Needed: 

 

Front suspension bushings etc

 

A running R16?

 

Disc brake parts

 

Frnt Pass door

 

Windshield & window rubbers

Unf, I don't have a lot of parts, and i need most of the same stuff you're looking for!

 

mine's been retrofitted with roadster front brakes - yours might be the same.

apparently pretty common on 411s, std 411s were drums all around, can't confirm that for the sss

 

The RL411 SSS  and WRL411 wagons were all front disc brakes.  The rears were standard drum brakes.  Front disc brakes were superficially similar to the 510 disc brakes but except for the calipers and pads were not interchangeable.  The hubs and discs were different.
