e88 manifold with n47 head

i finally got my su carbs in but the manifold has 6 holes for the e88 manifold, i have an n47 head and was fuel injected but only had 4 holes, so my question is what is needed to bolt the su manifold up

Drill and tap some more holes or weld up some holes.  Your choice.

havent got the stock manifold off yet so not sure if there is anymore holes that i can bolt up to, dont really wanna drill and tap more holes i like the n47/n42 ,but my buddy is convensing me to swap

It's not that bad.  Make a template with the manifold, drill in a half inch or a little less.  If you have a right angle cup on your drill, so much the better.  Then get a tap and there you go.  I had to drill and tap new holes in the L20B head when I did the fuel injection conversion.  I only had to add two holes though.

If the intake has a hole but no matching hoe on the head what's the problem? Just install normally... it isn't going anywhere. Same ass the U67 4 cylinder head with a 'wet' intake. No holes... no leaks.

the stock bolts are too big for the holes on the e88 manifold but i think ill find a bolt kit

just havent heard of anyone using su's on the n47 head i have a 1980 280zx

Very early SUs did not have water cooled intakes. I think '71s and on did. When the intake air temp is more consistent they run more consistent.

ok yea mine have the ports on the manifold for the coolant to run through i think they are from an '73 but i just want to make sure itll bolt to my head

I have a U67 head that didn't originally have the 'wet' intake. I  replaced the intake with a '79 that was water cooled. All I did was drill two 3/8" holes in the head and plum a return line. Works flawlessly and gets rid of the problematic and very heavy heat riser exhaust so I can use the L16 cast iron header.
