Metal's 350Z Daily

Recommended Posts

I'm a little bored so In an effort to try and inject myself back into Datsun's, I bring you.....my daily driver 3shittyZee.

SO metal picked this up last labor day. I have a 100 mile commute, so I decided that the most reliable thing I could enjoy would be a 350Z. I hate new cars, and I'm really  picky since I've always enjoyed my Datsuns, but having access to almost any aftermarket and OE part available at work, I opted to go ahead and search one out since my JCW Mini was getting annoying. Picked up my '07 HR from some dealer east of Atlanta. It's not much to see, and wasn't too quick but it's comfortable, reliable, and fun as hell.

I told myself I was just gonna leave it alone and drive it, but that didn't last long.

Got a deal on a set of double staggered Enkei RPF1's so I couldn't help myself.

Within a few weeks these asshats at work convinced me to invest in a Tomei Titanium exhaust. Greatest investment ever. Picked up 32whp after tuning and made 292 on stock intakes.

Took it out on the track last december for some shenanigans.

We retired some BC Racing BR type coilovers from a coworkers Turbo G35 before Global Time Attack, opting for the new Digressive Piston BC coilovers. Got 3rd place in his class.

Random shot as we were creeping out to ZDAYZ in the mountains with the race cars.

Where did you get the intake kit and damn you for wanting to make me spend $ on my G.

Z1 Motorsports ;) So worth it! We did initial testing on my car, and found another 10whp on a hot rainy day. The filters are a one off design, and integrate velocity stacks into the base.

I actually took a picture of it yesterday. I had my camera, saw an interesting perspective, and snapped it.

Since I last updated, the car has gotten giant 14'' brakes, new 200tw Nexen tires, and a variety of other wild bullshit that I really didn't need to spend money on, but did anyways like a Eurospec rear fog light.

For shits and giggles, our Time Attack 370Z circa this morning still in Global Time Attack trim. We took first place in Street RWD class at Road Atlanta Saturday in this monster. It makes about 560whp and still has a lot left in it.

Finally something worthy of an update to this boring thing. This car has finally been pushed over to 176,000 miles, and last October ran around Road Atlanta again for Z Nationals / ZCON 2018.

Decided after last year, I needed much more brake and more tire, so I installed 14'' brakes from the sport Infiniti / Nissan's. Way more effective with a proper pad. (Carbotech XP12's and XP10's). Also threw a fresh set of Nexen Sur4G tires on it for good measure. Best the car has ever felt on a track. Needs a bit better suspension under it, the BC Racing coilovers don't cut it and the stock VLSD is practically done. I'm seeing a Tomei CLSD in the near future with a rear gear change.

Such a tease. Only one shot of the time attack 370.

I have plenty more, sadly not many recent pictures since it's been going through changes. We won Global Time Attack street class this past year at Road Atlanta.

Took the car out to Atlanta Motorsports Park yesterday for some fun in the sun, about 5 minutes into the first session the car decided to start running like shit, CEL indicated 'Cylinder 1 Misfire'. I wonder why LOL.

Wasn't smoking at the time, no knocks or weird noises so I unplugged the cylinder 1 injector and drove it an hour home.

Edit: so I guess the pictures decided to not show up. Basically, I murdered a spark plug. I'll have to get the pics to load.
