It does not improve mileage or performance and usually owners cause vacuum leaks and other running problems. Some equipment like the fuel shut off actually improves mileage. The EGR can simply be disabled by pulling the hose off of it. If there's a smog air pump just take the belt off. The PCV valve should never be removed or disabled. The charcoal canister has no effect on running. Why not use our search function (upper right of page) and research this yourself? Lots of people have removed things and there are lots of stories about problems that are caused and how they are fixed. If you are going to go this route then you may as well do it right. The only reason for removal is to (arguably) improve the looks of the engine. Secretly I think, they think, it will run better. It doesn't. 1 Quote Link to comment
