76 710 wagon front struts

Hello

I'm trying to figure out what can i do about finding a match or rebuilding the struts I have if that even possible . It's been tough to find any new ones and I called so many places and still no luck. If anyone can give me some suggestions. Thanks

You won't find the strut assy for sale and really there is nothing to wear out but the inner damper or shock absorber. The inner oil bath shock absorber can be drained and removed and an insert used to replace it. But I just drained the old thin watery oil out and replaced it with motorcycle fork oil that is thicker. Thicker oil is harder to push through the valves and orifices and this added resistance firms them up. I bought a liter of BellRay 20W fork oil from a bike shop, about $17 and more than enough for two struts.

Is there a rebuild kit or something for the front struts?

If you have the original oil dampers you can change the oil to something thicker to firm them up. Other than that you can buy a throw away cartridge or insert damper.
