tire selection help needed

Recommended Posts

New to the forum. Great site by the way. Here is my question that may sound dumb. I have some rims that are 6J 14's and need to buy tires for them. I like the stretched look but not too much. Since they are only 6 wide I am thinking it might not happen or even look good. I was thinking of 165/50r14 or 175/40r14. I know it might be hard to find these sizes too. Does anyone have rims this size that wouldn't mind posting pictures? Also any recommendations on where to get tires of this size. Thanks for help. Dave

I wouldnt worry about stretching tires because it's not gonna happen on 6's. I would worry more about finding a good fit, and like Kiz said, a 195/60r14 would be perfect for your car. You'll need 7's or 8's for the stretch you're looking for?

195/60/hr14s is what i have on my rabbits. they fill the wells nicely and give a decent contact patch. Hankooks for the white rabbit. strech is over rated in my book anyway. yeah it may look cool at times, but tis not the best for "spirited" driving. sometimes though people go overboard. theres a guy up here running a MK4 VW gti. hes runnin 17x8 steelies with caps and a 5 inch tire. the outer edge of the RIM is 12 inch off the tire and you can see the mate line of the cap and the rim. stupidity if you ask me.
