TheRock3tBunny
So ive looked everywhere and have read multiple how to's. I have a 77 280z with a GC coilover kit and tokico illumina shocks. This is a picture of an uncut front shock tube with the tokiko inside... Ever review I read shoed them cutting around 2 inches off. Is something wrong here? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
No. Take the insert out and there is likely a 2" spacer under it.... or I hope there is. Any length insert will do as long as it fits inside even a shorter one. The reason for cutting the tube down for a shorter insert (shock) is to lower the ride height. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
DId you buy inserts for a 77 280z? If so... Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If they are 280z inserts then they will reach to the bottom of the tube. I don't know the length of Tokiko Illumina inserts. Take one out and see. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I don't know the length of Tokiko Illumina inserts. Take one out and see. Illumina is a model line - they come in different lengths for different applications 1 Quote Link to comment

TheRock3tBunny
Ok yea I have the 280z front tokiko illumina. Havent bought the back yet. Am realizing that for 240's peoppe buy the fronts and put them in the rear and then buy mr2 rears to put in the front of the Z. Will that also work with the 280? I have heard that the strut tubes are different so it wont? Quote Link to comment
