Sastis
Hey guys, I need your general knowledge on Datsun 510. My friend wants to convert his 1979 Datsun a10(510) from auto to manual. We found a clutch box from a member here. Its from 71 510, my question is will it bolt right on or do we need to fab or play with it? Thank you very much. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Better call it an A10 or HL510 or put the year in too, or you may get info on the original '68-'73 PL510. There are enough A10s around that I would try for a pedal box from one of them. Nothing worse that miss aligned, 'custom' bent pedals spoiling the finished product. You have a transmission for this? Sastis
Sorry Mike, I meant a10 and yes he has a 280zx 5 speed I sold him. I sold him a l20b with 280zx tranny with dual su. I guess the only thing stopping him would be the clutch box. He heading up north to check out the parts and since you guys love pictures so much here one. Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
Member Datsunfreak said he welded a box onto the clutch end of a automatic unit and installed pedal that way... If you look at the auto pedal box there is a large hole and a smaller hole on the side where the clutch pedal would go.... The smaller one is where the pivot bolt would go through and be attached, if you had one,, so lining it up would be easy enough ,... But welding the box and finding pedal arm and spring that would work correctly might be a chore depending on you guys parts bin. Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
You should be able to find the correct one in the yard fairly easily in the PNW. Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
You should be able to find the correct one in the yard fairly easily in the PNW. Haven't seen an A10 in any of the "major" wrecking yards from Bellingham to Salem in quite awhile Quote Link to comment
Sastis
He right, none.... Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
the A10 and 210 might be a better chance for a match closer to the same years and body styling Quote Link to comment
