MicroMachinery
Ah. Get ahold of James(the510keeper). I think it's a special kind of glue they use at the factory. He may have an alternative. 1 Quote Link to comment

MikeRL411
Just might help to know what vehicle you are asking this question about! 1 Quote Link to comment
Rick-rat
79 620, just like it says under my missing avatar I'm very sorry, that was rude 2 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
I'd assume seam sealer would handle the temps. Check the seam sealers at your local body shop. They should have a temp rating. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Vehicle info and signatures and location don't even show up on the mobile version of ratsun so often we don't even know if you have anything written there. 1 Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Regardless of make or model, it's probably a good bet that it's a Datsun. I'm guessing they all used the same stuff for the same purpose. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Curious as to what you find out. My 521 is the same way. 1 Quote Link to comment
kmc63
Years ago while making fiberglass parts for swimming pools I was introduced to a prduct called "plexus" it is an adhesive, very expensive.very strong. So strong that if you put a spot of this substance between two pieces of fiberglass, the fiberglass will rip apart. 2 Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
Plexus adhesive brings up this: http://www.itwplexus.com/ kmc, do you remember which one ? Rick, what ever you go with, I suggest you unbolt the hood, and lay it upside down, so you don't get any sags or runs. 1 Quote Link to comment
Dolomite
James was just telling me about it last weekend, he said it's some sort of two part epoxy, didn't say what brand though. 1 Quote Link to comment

bilzbobaggins
I thought Chevy glue was bubble gum? 2 Quote Link to comment
G-Duax
Chevy glue, corvette tape, that's why I would never own one......... 1 Quote Link to comment
kmc63
I didn't know their were so many kinds of "plexus" but I would just go with the one that says composites and metals. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rick-rat
Found some stuff called "GOOP" at home depot, sanded between the hood and the brace. Had to force the stuff in with a putty knife. when I sanded my hood today it seemed to be holding pretty well, will see after I drive it and get it warm to see if is any good, just a small tube for 5 bucks. It is supposed to be a flexible adhesive/sealer 1 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Goop is like a cheap craft adhesive man. It may well be fine for years but is sure as hell might not. I'd never trust my hood skin to that stuff. 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Goop was good when it was first out (20 years ago), then the VOC nazis took over and they reformulated it. Not so great anymore. 1 Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Sikaflex. https://usa.sika.com/en/roofing/02a011/02a011sa12/02a011sa12ssa02.html. Found at home depot and the like. Used to seal roof flashing to metal roofs. Sticks to everything and bit messy. Got to use gasoline to get off hands. Did mine several yrs ago, still holding. 3 Quote Link to comment
Rick-rat
If it doesn't work, I will redo it with something else. But this is a Ratsun truck, I'm cheap, and I think it will be fine. It wouldn't matter what I was to use, some of you would still say whatever you used was not the right thing 3 Quote Link to comment
Rick-rat
My "GOOP" job on my hood is holding fine, no more hood shake 1 Quote Link to comment
