Make a list bud, I have a dogleg that Draker and I are going to tear apart so I can rebuild it, I could sell it to you ready to bolt on, I'm looking at another 5spd right now that would work better for me (won't need to shorten the driveline) so if you're truly interested in the dogleg I'll pull the trigger on the other one :thumbup:

I meant what other 5speed option are you looking for? A short 2wd 720 tranny?

Ya, something I won't have to shorten my driveline....mine was auto before and the 4 spd I have now is using same driveline.

Yeah, your option is the short 63a dogleg or a 2wd short 720 tranny with a swapped bell housing. The 720 is a stronger transmission. But I like the dogleg.. either is good.

The long dogleg and it needs to come apart to see why the input shaft doesn't turn when in gear, when I drained the oil it was good, no metal in it nor shavings on the plug magnet....

If you have a lo g dogleg, why not get a long trans from a 620 or ZX?

Because I want to avoid shortening my driveshaft and moving back the shifter hole and modifying my center console, I've got one on radar, just need the seller to verify that it is indeed a shorty, if not I'll just rebuild my long one and do the extra mods...

Long tail #1: 31.5 inches (Mine)

Short tail: 26.3 inches (same length as my 4spd) that's what I'm after.

 

The '77-'79 200sx/HL510 tranny uses stock 510 sedan 4-speed ratios with an OD. The '77-'79 200sx/HL510 tranny is the dogleg 5-speed with reverse-above-1st gear pattern, same length as stock 4-speed so no driveshaft shortening needed to swap. This is a well spaced gearset but the OD gear could stand to be slightly taller

I actually have an L and a Z dogleg here.

 

Plan is to swap the bells to use the Z dogleg and replace the bearings.
