datzenmike Posted January 7, 2016 Report Share Posted January 7, 2016 Only the '79 had the radio antenna on the driver's side. Things to get... The EI matchbox dizzy The H-190 is a 4.11 on the '79. The 5 speed is an option but is a wide ratio box. Check out the rubber insulator around the carrier bearing. Rad may be 3 core. Alternator is internally regulated. May have the nicer looking pre '78 grill on it Windshield? Taillights? May have clock or tach option. Dash pad may be uncracked... yeah right in NM. Fuel pump, carb, clutch master, brake master, water pump/clutch fan and shroud. . Quote Link to comment

datzenmike Posted January 8, 2016 Report Share Posted January 8, 2016 Remove steering wheel and get the turn signal switch assy. There were three different style used on the 620. The 620 shares the brake and turn signal lamps in the rear. The turn signal switch has the job of disconnecting the brake light and connecting the flasher unit to it so they don't conflict each other. Quote Link to comment
cruznude Posted January 8, 2016 Author Report Share Posted January 8, 2016 So, I go to U pull it to look at this 79 datsun and its just horrible. Its basically just a shell. There was no dash at all, no motor, the body was so beat up they should of just scraped it all together. The only stuff that I saw that was half descent were the glass.
