Z-train
Need to get to Springfield. Closest airport is Portland. What's the mileage and is there transportation between the two? Quote Link to comment
Rick-rat
About 110 miles, rent a car at the airport. Quote Link to comment

DanielC
"Portland is 3 hours north of Springfield. Just to give you an idea." If you stop for lunch somewhere for an hour, or have to be in traffic until you are south of Portland. 1 Quote Link to comment

KoHeartsGPA
When 205 gets jammed to Wilsonville I get off at the Molalla exit (hwy 213) then take the Woodburn cutoff (hwy 211) saves you an hour of stop & go traffic. Quote Link to comment
Draker
It's 2 hours to springfield most days.. avoiding the 5pm traffic in portland. Take a bus: http://www.hutshuttle.com/ Portland Airport (PDX) to Eugene (U of O) Phoenix Inn Type Price per Adult (One Way) $60.00 Senior 55+ (One Way) $57.00 Student (One Way) $57.00 Adult (Round Trip) $112.00 Senior 55+ (Round Trip) $112.00 Student (Round Trip) $112.00 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
Phoenix Inn is about 2 miles from springfield. There is a bus line that goes into springfield every 10 minutes and there is a stop within walking distance. I work right next to that hotel Quote Link to comment
KoHeartsGPA
Good rates, I thought it would be more... Quote Link to comment
Draker
There are other busses that make the trip down.. including greyhound. But the Hut is straight out of PDX airport. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
If I was closer I'm in Medford about 2hrs south of Springfield. Would have put the 810 to use but it need a radiator. Quote Link to comment
Mattndew76
Take the train from portland. Its faster Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
Flying into Eugene is expensive because it's a small airport, a bus ticket it $12 from Portland to Eugene, then public transportation goes all over Eugene and Springfield since they're pretty much the same place. Even though it's the next town over technically, it's pretty much the same place, i5 cuts it down the middle. I can get to Portland in under an hour and a half from my house in south Eugene, the bus takes about 2 hours because the station is downtown. If you come in on a Tuesday or Wednesday I could potentially take you from the bus station to your destination in Springfield. Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
Also, there are Portland city buses that go straight from the airport to the train/bus station downtown, it's $2.50 to ride the city bus. Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Portland also has the MAX light rail that goes out to the airport and probably brings you directly to bus station or AMtrak train station. 1 Quote Link to comment
HOGIE
Or the BoltBus. Unlike Amtrac or Greyhound, its a straight shot between Portland and Eugene. Also price goes down when the bus is about to leave if its not full. My old coworker found a ticket for $3 once 1 Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Holy shit!! i have seen those buses a million times,, i would have never guessed they were a open to the public non-stop service.. I looked up their rates and they are pretty damn cheap for what you get really. Always wrote off good deals that far south as i hate riding any kinda of public transportation because of all the stops. Or the BoltBus.
