I love those things, one of the coolest options ever on a truck, and I find it hard to believe some folks can't wait to take them off. But I've never seen one for sale. It will look totally boss w/ your new roof rack! Do you have a set of those side steps for the bed? I scored some last year but still need to put them on. Though I did manage to score some mega rare 521 aftermarket fang style bumperguards the other day. But the over bar is even cooler! Good luck (though w/ your roof rack skills, you could fab one up pretty easy!) Quote

That'd be great. As far as I know there are only two Datsun truck guys in MA, and I am one of them. In the picture of the truck you sent w/ the overbar, you can see those bed steps. Just behind the cab. I hear there was a handle of some sort on the top edge of the bed too, but I've never seen one, and can't verify it. Quote

Went to a VW show/swap meet last week and I seen an early Kombi bus with some steps like that. Only for the front doors. The owner said they were factory and just bolted on. Not many Datsun guys here either. A few "Z" guys but not "D" guys They see my Z and they're all over it but my truck is of no interest to them. Still tho. There is not 1 day goes by that I don't get someone say something about my truck or run me down in traffic to comment. The best is, And it happens all the time regularly, especially with gas prices like they are. The guy in the crew cab 4x4 long bed monsters running me down to ask about it, and how good is the milage, havn't ever seen 1 b4. Their just not the norm around here. Come to think about. We took our Samba, 78 bay window.It 's a blast to drive. Didn't enter it in any of the contests, but I wish I had. No one seems to customize the bays. And I can't drive anything if it's not. :cool: Dubbs are what I knashed my teeth on. Havn't had 1 for 20+ years and now I'm back, with a bus. Funny how things come full circle. If Datsun made a mini van:eek: I would rock 1. Not many Cool choices in that catagory. Not in the US anyway. Quote

Sit around and drink alittle beer by the fire. I know where you got the idea on the rack, we bought one off that guy down there for our 74 bus. Fits nice. I need the extra packing room for our crap. That was one of the best meets they've had in a while, Saturday you couldn't move in there. Quote
