Farmer Joe
nice pickup! the KA was the 2nd best thing i did to my 620. if you have drum brakes on the front, get rid of those as soon as you can. disks are gonna help get that sucker stopped with that KA making it go. 2 Quote Link to comment
lbrooks6174
Quick update only thing happening has been engine teardown. but here we are ready for machine shop 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Has the straight across rad support so older than '75 and will have drums all round. That's a KA24DE from a late S13 or an S14 so will have the large crank girdle in the way. I think the D21 oil pan 'grafted' to that one should work but the engine will sit slightly higher than the Hardbody KA. You don't show it, but did you get the intake and all the wiring and ECU for it? 1 Quote Link to comment
lbrooks6174
it is an s14 i got the harness ecu ignition and intake. so with reds mounts i'll still have clearence issues with the s14 oil pan? Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
The only issue with the pan is that you have to flip the center link. With the truck KA you don't have to flip it. 1 Quote Link to comment
lbrooks6174
Oh ok knew about that one so what easier grafting new pan or center link flip? Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I guess it depends on your skill level and your available tools. To me flipping the center link was quicker and easier though. If you do go with a custom pan you will need to relocate the sump accordingly. Quote Link to comment
lbrooks6174
Yeah i looked into that link flip it is. Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
flip the steering center link... much easier than making a whole new pan and pickup tube. get ahold of a welding shop thats local to ya, and explain you want the tapers flipped on the pitman and steering gear arm. cost us $50 for a local shop to do it. 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Make sure to take the idler arm part to protect the bushings. 1 Quote Link to comment
lbrooks6174
I was wandering if I decide to part with the L18 and 4 speed what would be a fair asking price it does use oil needs a rebuild Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Someone that needs one. 250.. Just to sell.. 350. Haha Maybe 200.. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
What good is an oil burning L18? Give it away. The most valuable part is the 5 bolt 225mm flywheel. 1 Quote Link to comment
lbrooks6174
yeah heard that flywheel is rare. may just sell what's good on it Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
Is that Ford blue? Don't. You'll hate it. Pontiac Catalina(closest off the shelf to Datsun original) or black. Quote Link to comment
